Are you living in a small apartment or in a small space that you trying to figure out how to make it bigger? There are many ways to make a room larger such as knocking down walls or cleaning up your room. However, there is also a way that “enlarges” your room without breaking the bank. Did you know you can replace your old windows with a new bay or bow window?
Bay or Bow Windows
Bay: A bay window is a window that projects outward from the walls of a building and forms a bay in a room. It has three openings. The most common inside angles of a bay window are 90, 135, and 150 degrees. Bay windows are popular among residential Victorian architectures.
Bow: A bow window is a window that has four or five openings. Its structure is curved forming the shape of a bow. Bow windows allow more light to come into the room with more glass panes.
Add Bow or Bay Windows to Your Room
There is not much of a difference in bow or bay windows and they both can bring a lot of light to your dark room. The depth that they bring can make a room appear to be larger. It is because they are built to extend beyond your wall. It is important to remember that the center window is specifically designed to not open and only open the left and right windows. For ventilation purposes, we recommend casement or double hung windows on either side of the window.
